Köln, 9. Juni 2026 – Wie wurde der gesellschaftliche Wandel in Ostdeutschland fotografisch dokumentiert, interpretiert und erinnert? Und welche Rolle spielt die Porträtfotografie bei der Darstellung individueller und kollektiver Identitäten? Diesen und weiteren Fragen widmet sich das Symposium „Im Angesicht des Wandels. Ost | Porträt | Fotografie“, das die Arbeitsgruppe 89+ Fotoperspektive Ost der Deutschen Gesellschaft für Photographie (DGPh) am 25. und 26. Juni 2026 in Halle (Saale) veranstaltet.

On the occasion of its 25th anniversary, the Art, Market & Law Section of the German Photographic Society (DGPh) announces the launch of a new award: the Gruber Award.

With this award, the Section is, for the first time in the DGPh’s 75-year history, placing a deliberate focus on an area that has been of central importance to the development of photography, yet has rarely stood at the center of public recognition: the photographic art market.

Anlässlich ihres 25-jährigen Jubiläums kündigt die Sektion Kunst, Markt und Recht der Deutschen Gesellschaft für Photographie (DGPh) die Einführung eines neuen Preises an: den Gruber Award.

Mit dem Preis richtet die Sektion erstmals in der 75-jährigen Geschichte der DGPh den Fokus gezielt auf einen Bereich, der für die Entwicklung der Fotografie von zentraler Bedeutung ist, bislang jedoch nur selten im Zentrum öffentlicher Anerkennung steht – den Fotokunstmarkt.
